19th September 2011 - Summer Round Up

Well, its been a long time since I posted an article and a lot has happened since! The main reason why it has been so long, is that Jerry and I became proud parents of our second little girl Kateia Nepia (pronounced Kar-tay-a) in addition to our two year old daughter Kiriana (both Maori names). She was born on the 3rd June weighing 9lb and 6oz (she has Jerrys maori genes!) and she is just gorgeous - very placid and smiley.

I started back in clinic three weeks ago and I have to say, I am genuinely really enjoiyng being back, particularly in our new premises. Our new space has a lovely atmosphere to it, very modern, professional and the combination of the parking, the use of the gym (obviously just for staff or members!) and the proximity of all the restaurants and the O2 centre, gives the clinic a real buzz.

These three weeks have been a really busy time too, as I have been treating Ninas patients whilst she has been on holiday in South Africa. She has been enjoying an extremely well earned break after 3 months of looking after my patients whilst on maternity leave; enjoying time with her sister who was over from South Africa and completing her dissertation!!

Nina has finally completed her Masters in Chiropractic Paediatrics so a huge congratulations to her!!! Over the summer, Nina also completed a dry needling course, meaning that now both of us are able to use acupuncture for musculoskeletal conditons, on our patients.

This is also a very busy time for the clinic as everyone comes back from their holidays and school starts. We have a big proportion of American families as patients, as the American International school in St. Johns Wood is nearby. So a lot of families have just returned from their summer vacations (and what amazing school trips that school offers!).

Well, I look forward to seeing all of our fantastic patients again over the next few weeks. In the meantime, I am following the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, watching our at present underperforming rugby team, whilst trying to keep face with my Kiwi husband and South African Chiropractic colleague!!! Wish me luck!!

Testimonials

I went to see Nina during the 1st trimester of my pregnancy and carried on with treatments until the last weeks. The chiropractic treatments were a tremendous plus for my well-being during this traumatic time for my body. It prevented me from getting back pain (a common problem for pregnant women).

I could see the difference with my group of pregnant friends from NCT, who were not getting any chiropractic treatments. In fact, I was the only one not complaining with back pain!

Nina also provided me with a lot of advice, in terms of posture, what to do/not to do during my pregnancy, helping me to arrive in a better condition at the big moment of giving birth. A big thanks to Nina for her care during that critical time of my life.
